What to Expect the First Month You Start TTC
You threw out those birth control pills, got rid of those condoms, and now the excitement begins! It’s time to get pregnant!
But wait … you had sex at the right time (or so you thought), and 28 days later, your period arrived right on schedule.
What happened? Why aren’t you pregnant yet?
Getting pregnant is a little like winning the lottery. You could have almost all the right numbers, but something just isn’t quite right. Although it may seem like getting pregnant is quite easy, conception is actually quite complicated. Even if you do have sex at the right time, Mr. Sperm just might not like Mrs. Egg that month. On average, it takes most fertile couples six months to one year to get pregnant on their own.
So don’t be surprised if you don’t get pregnant right away because it may take time — and you might need more practice!
