TTC after Successful Fertility Treatments

Right after Ant was born was when I had the strongest desire to have another child. I am going to chalk that up to hormones (and thinking maybe he was our only child.) After we paid our first storage fee on our frozen embryo (‘totsicle’) I knew I wasn’t yet ready to have another.
Over the last year I have thought about our next step. Do we want to do another cycle with an egg donor? Do we want to do a traditional surrogacy with my sister? Do we want to just try on our own again? Do we want to adopt? After over a year asking myself these questions I feel like I have finally settled on an answer.
Here is our plan of attack:
I think the main reason I am hesitant to do another cycle with a new egg donor or adopt is because of the cost. The money we would pay for another cycle or an adoption could be Ant’s college fund. I would feel we were taking away from him if we did the selfish thing to try to have another child one of these ways. Although, to my surprise, I am considering foster/adopting through the foster care system. After seeing a successful foster care adoption, it opens my eyes to what a wonderful gift it could be.
